Worst in the job market is here
Category: News
Experts predict that job market in India is in the worst state in recent years. The global recession has affected Indian Job market badly.
The worst affected are the freshers. Barring few companies almost all of them have put on hold hiring freshers and there seems to be no hope for the freshers. With Indian universities and colleges churning out thousands of freshers every year and due to lack of any job offer the fate of these freshers hangs in uncertainty.
It is estimated that in Bangalore, the IT capital of India, alone there are about more than 100,000 of unemployed graduates struggling to get their first break.
Nitu Bannerjee (name changed) is one of them. She graduated from on of the prestigious MBA college and she has been in Bangalore for past 2 months and finding it hard to get even an interview call let alone job offer.
Deepak Kumar (name changed) another Computer Science graduate from one of the top Bangalore Engineering College finds it hard to get a job.
Even the top Management schools have seen the worst of the placement in recent years. The top-B schools are struggling to get 100% placement. Even those who are placed are being offered less salaries. This year the average salary in top B-schools is down by 25% in comparison to last year’s salary.
With no hope of the Economic revival in USA and UK it seems Job Market in India would continue to be gloomy further.
Indians working abroad are also affected by the recession. Most of them are heading back to India as they have lost their jobs and there is no hope for them abroad. Manish Chandran (Name changed), a Software Engineer, working in USA recently returned as he lost his job and didn’t have the hope of getting any in future.
There has been a massive increase in the freshers’s registration this year on various Indian Job portals. SwamiJobs, one of the leading Indian Job Portal for Freshers, reported to have 87% increase in freshers registration this year.
Market analyst predict that there is no hope of light in the near future and Indian Job market would continue to be gloomy for at least end of this year.

ReplyI am fresher(2008 passed out)-Electrical engg. graduate with a campus job offer at hand from an US based IT company, which has been hit hard by recession, I am not called yet to join. I am searching for a job in Core and IT sector for the past one year.
The worst hit ones among the student community are the open category students with poor financial backgroung, having good academic record with no reservations and facing heavy competition in Govt. jobs too they are left with no options. Freshers are getting more and more confused equipping themselves with more and more computer course certifications and PG degrees. Also they are falling a prey into hands of training centres promising them fake job offers.

ReplyI got job in a gud company in Bangalore but I have to make non refundable surety deposit. At least this is better than WASTING money with training institutes which offer nothing but a piece of paper (certificate) which can’t guarantee a decent job.
I am the lucky one.

You have to check the company background and if you find it to be good company then you should join the company. Fresher Job Market is really bad and if you wait then you will never get a break at all.
